Success Stories

  • Salem

Salem came to Whiskers as a mom of 6 newborn kittens. She had traveled 5 hours to us and was absolutely scared to death. Salem was so nervous that her milk had dried up and a volunteer needed to step in and bottle-feed her babies. Slowly over 5 months she learned to trust humans and became brave enough to walk around a room without hiding. When Sarah came along we talked about Salem’s needs and Sarah was up to the task! Salem settled into her new home and within a week was fully adjusted to her new home. Sometimes all a kitty needs is a person like Sarah in their life.

  • Carmen

Carmen is a special needs kitty with Cerebellar Hypoplasia and suffered from giardia and a herpes flare as a kitten. She is now healthy, full of life, and runs the household even though she is years younger than her 3 cat siblings. Carmen enjoys “bunny hopping” around the house, chasing after her dad, and playing with her favorite toy - a stuffed pickle.

  • Phoenix

Phoenix was brought to Whiskers in a cardboard box as a kitten after being found in a yard. He was approximately 9 months-old and very shy. He lived with one of our foster families for 4 months before being adopted by his loving mom, Emily.

  • Trooper

Trooper came to Whiskers at 4 weeks-old with a broken femur. After examination our vet also determined that he needed head surgery. After healing Trooper has learned how to be a healthy, loving kitten and was adopted at one of our events.

  • Tucker

Sometimes we help to facilitate a dog adoption. Meet Taylor and Tucker. Tucker a 7 year-old Boxer and was displaced from his home after a divorce. With the help of our transport team and a loving new dad Taylor, Tucker is now living his best life.
